THE FESTIVAL OF FUDGE

A celebration of Fudge-related music, dance, literature and art, the festival featured characters and artists spearheading the campaign for Fudge recognition. ‘The Festival of Fudge’ delighted audiences old, young and toothless in Ayr, Biggar, Birmingham, Cumnock, Glasgow, Hamilton, Mayfield, Perth & Stirling between 2011 and 2012.

The fudge-tastic attractions were housed in five 'pop-up' marquees and the short, fun theatrical presentations were made by a troupe of ten interactive performers, and the ‘festival’ ran for two hours straight through, featuring short stage presentations as highlights. Technically, the event was almost self-sufficient, and required only basic production support from the host as per any similar public event.

As one audience member blogged: “I loved the whole ethos of the event – simply to bring joy to passers by and engage them in temporary nuttiness”.

This consummate foray into the cleverly ridiculous teased audiences into looking, listening and laughing at what’s basically under their noses, if they take time to engage with it.
