The Eve of the Millennium gave Mischief a once in a lifetime opportunity to realise an extremely large and extremely temporary project. Working with Scott Associates (Sculptors) they created a 45 foot flame belching space rocket that was secretly embedded overnight into the railway bridge near ‘Paddy’s Market’ in Glasgow.
‘Discovered’ at dawn, the bleeping object attracted the Police, the Military, the Ministry of Defence, Academics, pro and anti – alien demonstrators, CNN TV News crews and street vendors – all Mischief performers. As the millennium moment arrived, the spacecraft split open and aliens revealed themselves - before launching into an intergalactic pop concert for the assembled crowds. The whole scenario was whisked away overnight and became instant mythology.
