Fallacies and Fantasies Boat Tour

ImageIn April 2006, Mischief La-Bas were commissioned to create a light-hearted, character-based, guided tour of the Falkirk Wheel. On a barge manned by 'Captain Pentwhistle' and First Mate 'Laura Tosh', the audience was treated to an unforgettable boat trip peppered with educational, inspirational and amusing facts ('Did you know the canal was carved from cheese?') and punctuated with absurd highlights such as the sight of local fisherman Archie MacWhirter landing a giant squid, the appearance of the ghost of 'Johnny Onions' by the canalside and a glimpse of the rare 'Falkirk Buck' (a sheep with antlers). All these treats were provided by a third actor, performing all the additional roles with the aid of some very quick costume changes and a bike.

The commissioning clients on this occasion were Big In Falkirk, British Waterways and The Falkirk Wheel.

What People Say About Us

‘We were delighted that you were able to perform at Saturday’s match between Wales and Scotland. The response that we had to the Tom Jones Fan Club from the spectators as well as the staff was just fantastic and the four members of Mischief La-Bas were excellent. Looking forward to working with you again in the near future.’
Best wishes, Jennifer Gilmour (Event Mechanics)
